スウェーデンとオーストラリアにルーツを持つイラストレーター／アーティスト、エリン・マチルダ・アンダーソンによる個展「Close to Home」を開催します。
本展では、版画、絵画、ドローイング、コラージュを通じた、アンダーソンの遊び心あふれる様々な作品を展示します。また、これら平面作品に加え、オーストラリアはウロンゴンのアーティスト・レジデンス期間中に制作された、手びねりのテラコッタ作品も展示されます。
本展での作品は、オーストラリアや世界中の、自然界への深い愛情に満ちています。現代では自分の居場所を見失ってしまうことが多々あり、グローバルな資本主義の中で、帰属意識の欠如や非生産性に対する罪悪感に襲われることもあるでしょう。しかし、自然はそれらとは対となる存在で、休息や慰め、そして喜びの場を与えてくれます。
優しさと機知が交わり、日常の生活の中に驚きと帰属の感覚をもたらしてくれるアンダーソンの世界へぜひお越しください。
“Close to Home” presents a new body of work by Swedish–Australian illustrator and artist Elin Matilda Andersson.
There are many ways to feel lost in the world. Beyond the churn of productivity guilt, burnout, and a sense of rootlessness within a global capitalist existence, nature offers a counterbalance—a place of rest, solace, and joy.
This exhibition reflects Andersson’s past decade of playful experimentation across printmaking, painting, drawing and paper collage. It also includes a series of hand-built terracotta objects, created during a recent artist residency at a ceramic studio in Wollongong, NSW. Across mediums, “Close to Home” carries a language of curiosity and humour, infused with a deep love for the natural world — in Australia and elsewhere.
Visitors are invited to enter this world where tenderness meets wit, and where the everyday becomes a site of wonder and belonging.

Elin Matilda Andersson / エリン・マチルダ・アンダーソン
シドニーを拠点とする、スウェーデン系オーストラリア人のイラストレーター／アーティスト。
遊び心あふれる実験を通じて、ユーモアと温かさを融合させたドローイング、版画、絵画、コラージュ、陶芸など、様々な手法で作品を制作。自然や物語、北欧的な美にインスピレーションを受け、アナログとデジタルの両方の技法を使用。これまでに世界中のブランドや出版物、パッケージ等へ作品を提供しながら、個人としての作品制作を進めている。
Elin Matilda Andersson is a Swedish–Australian illustrator and artist based in Sydney. Her practice blends humour and heart through playful experiments in drawing, printmaking, painting, collage and ceramics. Inspired by the natural world, storytelling, and Scandinavian aesthetics, she works across both analogue and digital techniques. Over the past decade, Andersson’s work has been commissioned for brand campaigns, publications and packaging worldwide, alongside personal and community-driven projects.
